Madrid Jiu Jitsu & Self-Defense teaches Jiu Jitsu through structured, small-group classes focused on real skill development, discipline, and confidence. Training emphasizes decision-making, pressure control, and practical self-defense, not just memorizing techniques. The environment is welcoming but serious, built for beginners, families, and committed students who want to improve with purpose.
Classes are kept small so every student gets real coaching and attention, not lost in a crowd.
Learn decision-making under pressure, real-world self-defense skills, and techniques that work when it matters.
From kids as young as 5 to adult competitors, there's a program built for every stage of the journey.
Jiu Jitsu isn't just physical, it builds mental toughness, focus, and self-belief on and off the mat.
From first-timers to competitors, kids to adults, find the class that fits where you are and where you want to go.

The core of the academy. Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time or preparing for competition, train in structured Gi and No-Gi classes built for technical proficiency, pressure control, and real-world self-defense, all in a challenging but supportive environment.

A dedicated training environment built for women, by design. The same high-quality Jiu Jitsu instruction in a smaller, more comfortable setting. Learn self-defense, build confidence, and develop real grappling skills alongside other women on the same journey.

Our kids program teaches discipline, respect, and problem-solving through age-appropriate Jiu Jitsu. Children learn foundational techniques, body awareness, and how to handle conflict with confidence. Classes are structured by age group (5–8 and 9–12) for focused instruction.

Teens train alongside adults in a structured curriculum that challenges them physically and mentally. This program builds resilience, self-discipline, and practical self-defense during a critical stage of development, the perfect bridge between our youth and adult programs.

My 11 year old daughter has been training at Daniel Madrid Jiu Jitsu twice a week for six months now and it’s been such a positive experience for her. She normally gets frustrated and quits activities but this has been different as she genuinely looks forward to going every week, and I’ve seen a huge difference in her confidence, discipline, and overall growth as a person since starting here. Daniel is an excellent professor and really takes the time to work with the kids individually. Because the gym is smaller, the students get a lot more personal attention instead of just getting lost in a huge class. Daniel Madrid offers an environment that is welcoming, supportive, and never intimidating, which made it easy for my daughter to feel comfortable right away. Another thing I really appreciated was how affordable the gym is, especially compared to a lot of other places, and they let you try classes for about a week before committing which says a lot about how confident they are in what they offer. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great jiu jitsu gym for kids.
I can't recommend Daniel Madrid Jiu-Jitsu enough. The facility itself is clean, well-kept, and a great space to train in. But what really sets this place apart is Daniel himself. He's a dedicated and caring practitioner who genuinely invests in everyone who walks through his doors. You can tell right away that he's a warm person, the kind of coach who actually pays attention to your progress and wants you to improve. His passion for the sport is obvious in everything he does. He's deeply invested in jiu-jitsu, not just as a martial art but as a craft he's constantly refining and sharing with his students. Whether you're brand new or have years on the mats, you'll feel welcomed and supported here. If you're looking for a place to train with a coach who actually cares, this is it.
Our kids (ages 4 and 6) have been attending classes here for about six months and it has been such a great experience for our family. The Coach Daniel does an incredible job working with younger kids. He’s patient, encouraging, and knows exactly how to keep them engaged while still teaching real jiu jitsu skills. What we appreciate most is the balance of fun and structure. The kids are learning technique, discipline, respect, and how to listen and work hard, but they’re also having a great time doing it. Our kids genuinely look forward to class every week, which says a lot. The environment is positive, supportive, and very welcoming for families. You can tell the coach truly cares about the kids and their progress. We’re really grateful we found this gym and would absolutely recommend it to any parents looking for a great place for their kids to learn jiu jitsu.
The changes in our son (5yo) since beginning BJJ with Daniel has been incredible. His self confidence, self control and physical abilities have all skyrocketed beyond our wildest dreams. Daniel has a true gift teaching the children.
I've trained with Professor Madrid for a couple of years. He's a knowledgeable, patient and carrying coach. Highly recommend him and his school!
